Oppo Reno 12 and Reno 12 Pro were launched in certain global regions on Tuesday, weeks after their debut in China. The global editions of the handsets have certain similarities to their Chinese equivalents. However, the global Oppo Reno 12 and Reno 12 Pro are powered by MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Energy SoCs. In China, the Reno 12 series is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8250 Star Speed Edition SoC and the MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ Star Speed Edition chipset. The global variants of the handsets also include many generative AI functions, such as AI Studio and AI Summary.

OPPO Reno 12FS design

According to Spill Some Beans, the OPPO Reno 12 FS will be the Reno 12 series’ entry-level model. This implies that it will be a scaled-back version of the Reno 12 series. The study describes the Reno 12 FS’s specifications and design. Starting with the design, it will have a circular camera module rather than the vertical island on the Reno 12 series.

According to reports, the camera module will be termed the “Cosmo Ring Design” and will have a Halo Light with eight colours for notifications and alerts. The OPPO Reno 12 FS will be available in two colour options: Amber Orange and Black Green.

The global versions of the Oppo Reno 12 and Reno 12 Pro have 6.7-inch full-HD+ (2,412 x 1,080 pixels) curved OLED panels with up to 120Hz refresh rate and up to 1,200 nits peak brightness level. Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protects the base option, and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protects the display of the Pro model.

Both Oppo Reno 12 models have MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Energy chipsets, 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM, and 512GB of UFS 3.1 onboard storage. They come pre-installed with ColorOS 14.1, which is built on Android 14.

The Oppo Reno 12 features a 50-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel sensor with an ultra-wide lens, and a 2-megapixel macro shooter at the back, as well as a 32-megapixel sensor on the front. Meanwhile, the Oppo Reno 12 Pro features the same main and ultrawide cameras as the base model. The third camera on the Pro model is a 50-megapixel telephoto shooter, while the front camera is a 50-megapixel sensor.

  • The OPPO Reno 12 FS will include a 5,000mAh battery with 45W SuperVOOC fast charging technology, which is promised to charge from 0 to 50 percent in 39 minutes and 100 percent in 69 minutes.
  • The triple camera array will consist of a 50MP OmniVision OVD50D primary camera, an 8MP IMX355 ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP macro camera. The Reno 12 FS features a 32MP selfie camera.
  • The OPPO Reno 12 FS is also rumoured to include AI capabilities such as AI Eraser, AI Smart Image Matting, and AI Studio, which can turn photos into stickers and portraits into artworks.
  • The smartphone will also include an under-display fingerprint sensor and IP64 dust and water resistance.

The Oppo Reno 12 is priced at EUR 499.99 (approximately Rs. 44,700) for the single 12GB + 256GB configuration. Meanwhile, the Oppo Reno 12 Pro is priced at EUR 599.99 (about. Rs. 53,700) for the 12GB + 256GB variant.

The Oppo Reno 12 is available in Astro Silver and Matte Brown, while the Pro model comes in Nebula Silver and Space Brown.

Pros:
